Our IB Diploma results are consistently high, with our 2026 cohort achieving an average points score of 36, significantly higher than the world average of 31.

Nearly a quarter of the cohort achieved 40 points or more, with an exceptional 13 students scoring 43 or more out of a maximum 45 points, placing them among the highest-performing IB students worldwide. The top 20 students achieved an outstanding average of 42.95 points, while the top 50 students averaged an impressive 40.6 points, demonstrating the exceptional calibre of our highest achievers. More than half of our students achieved 36 points or above, equivalent to AAA at A Level, highlighting the exceptional strength and depth of achievement across the cohort.

These outcomes are particularly impressive given that St Clare’s is a semi-selective school. We select students based on their motivation and potential, while also valuing the wider contributions they make to our school community alongside their academic achievement. Every student completes the full IB Diploma, making our sustained success – reflected in a three-year average score of 35.2 points – a testament to the quality of our teaching, the strength of our support, and the ambition, resilience and commitment of our students.

Challenge

Everyone in our community is united by one key motivation: to be challenged and step beyond comfort zones in pursuit of growth, independence, and self-discovery. High expectations shape how we approach learning, encouraging intellectual curiosity, academic achievement, and open-minded future aspirations. Our students are driven to challenge both themselves and their goals to be the most globally aware and academically ambitious version of themselves, understanding that success and aspiration take different forms for different people.

Teaching

Our teachers have unrivalled experience and specialist knowledge of the IB programme: many are IB examiners; involved in the development of the IB curriculum; write and are involved in the production of the IB textbooks; and teach IB teachers (link to Teacher Training home page) from around the world. In addition to their subject expertise, our teachers pay close attention to creating friendly, collaborative learning environments that support happy, confident and engaged students.

Learning

Learning takes place in small classes, where each student receives individualised support and guidance tailored to their personal strengths and goals. Learning is collaborative and interactive, with varied opportunities for class discussions, group work, as well as individual practical and written assignments. Students are encouraged to take an active role in their learning whilst benefitting from the support of classmates and tutors in a shared teaching environment.

Facilities

Our experience and expertise are enhanced by our beautiful campus of 28 buildings, home to many academic resources, including well-equipped science laboratories, art studio, music studio, and modern teaching spaces. Our large university-level library is a fantastic resource for students, offering well equipped study spaces and access to a broad range of materials, such as books in a variety of languages, journals, e-books and online databases.
